Current Obsession: Wallpaper Bathrooms
It’s no secret — wallpaper is IN.
If you’ve been following interior home trends, browsing through magazines, or even watching television you might have noticed that wallpapered walls are once again popular (or perhaps they never really went out of style). Today there are so many different styles and patterns to choose from, that incorporating this trend into your home is fairly simple. Instead of focusing on putting up wall paper throughout your home, we love using it to cover our bathroom & powder room walls!
Why we love wallpaper bathrooms:
- They’re beautiful! We like to consider the powder room a hidden jewel box — a smaller room with a gorgeous secret behind its doors. It’s an unexpected surprise for your guests and a welcoming sight for your family.
- Visual interest. Wallpaper is a great alternative to paint because it adds texture, pattern, and visual interest. By adding another layer of depth into the room, it creates a fun and luxurious space.
- Size. Sometimes it can seem a little daunting to put up wallpaper in one of the larger, main rooms. We get it! A bathroom or powder room provides just enough space without feeling overwhelming.
- Endless possibilites. With so many style options, almost anyone can have a wallpaper bathroom that fits their personality. Floral motifs, geometric designs, bold colors or animal prints — the choice is yours!
Remember not to go too crazy with patterns and colors! It’s easy to get caught up in the moment envisioning a vibrant and inspiring powder room for yourself, but keep in mind this will still be a part of your home. It shouldn’t completely clash with the rest of your decor. If the rest of your home is country cottage with shades of blue and white, don’t dream up a bold red bathroom design — it just won’t work. Instead go for a patterned wallpaper that complements everything else…perhaps a fun plaid or floral motif!
