Stylish Storage Solutions – Curtained Bookshelves
Several months ago, we talked about the art of accessorizing bookshelves. For those who need their bookshelves to act in a more functional manner, bookshelves can become a very attractive storage solution when reworked appropriately.
We like to use curtained bookshelves, especially in apartments where open wall space is usually quite plentiful. If you’re looking for a way to make storage seem more attractive in your home, below are our three Nandina tips for creating a fabulous curtained bookshelf.
- Cover the bookshelves with curtains that either match or compliment your window treatments. For an extra touch of glam, try pinning lightweight artwork to the fabric.
- Place the shelves side by side, or use a floor length mirror to separate them and give the illusion that the room expands past the shelves.
- If you want to make your ceilings seem taller, hang the curtains from the ceiling rather than from the top of the bookshelf.
And there you go – a practical and stylish storage solution! Below are a few photos with some examples.
