Pantone’s “Enchanting” Fall 2012 Color Report
Often times, fashion and interior design color trends go hand-in-hand; so many designers (ourselves included) look forward to New York Fashion Week, as that is the time when Pantone reveals its seasonal color reports. The Fall 2012 Color Report was revealed earlier this month and features a fabulous selection of colors that we can’t wait to add to our wardrobes and homes!
Pantone describes the fall color palette as “an unexpected mix of darks, brights, and neutrals” that “cleverly manipulate reality to transport consumers to an enchanting place, free from the stresses of everyday life.” Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, says the combination of versatile neutrals and bold hues with lots of spirit is a balanced palette that has something for everyone.
Along with the 2012 Color of the Year, Tangerine Tango, the fall 2012 palette includes Bright Chartreuse, a spring-like yellow-green; Pink Flambé, a bright and bold pink; Ultramarine Green, a cool blue-green; Rhapsody, a serene gray-ish purple; Honey Gold, a yellow reminiscent of sunlight on a fall day; Olympian Blue, a patriotic blue; French Roast, a “tasty” alternative to black and charcoal; Titanium, a cool gray; and Rose Smoke, a muted rose tone that pairs well with most of the hues on the fall 2012 palette.
Below are a few of our projects featuring similar hues.
