Makeover Monday: a new take on traditional

We love transforming a space using our clients’ existing furniture. Sometimes all it takes is some new accents and accessories to make a traditional room feel fresh again! Our client decided this was going to be their forever home, and wanted to update the dining room since they are avid entertainers.

We used all of their existing dining room furniture and added new Lee head chairs in a luxurious ivory greek key fabric. WE reupholstered their side chair seats in a coordinating ivory herringbone fabric.

The most dramatic change was wallpapering the room in a deep rust Thibaut Fine Sisal wallpaper, which envelopes you in the space. A new chandelier in soft brass with a shade by Visual Comfort, and new sophisticated lamps by Port 68 add sparkle and brighten up the space. A beautiful hand knotted grey rug with ivory and rust details by Jaunty anchors the table and chairs and coordinates beautifully with the rust rug in the adjacent foyer. The bold black fern artwork finishes the space and draws your eyes across the room when looking in from the foyer.

This client has been wonderful to work with, trusting our vision for the dining room, from the bold wallpaper to the heirloom-quality hand knotted rug. This is a room they will enjoy with their family and friends for years to come.

Hey guys, Jan Harper here from Pittsburg. I am still working on getting my boxes unpacked and the house ready for some of the fun stuff you all provide. It has been a task as my horse Whitney has had some foot issues this summer up here. Every day to the barn washing, cleaning, wrapping….a four hour round trip after all is said and done. I will be back in Aiken for the winter and I am finally on your online info. Talk to to you soon!
