Lathem’s Latest Obsessions
As designers, we try not to pick favorites for fear that all of our design clients will end up living in the same space, but sometimes, we just can’t help it! Even if I obsess over one element, there are still a million different ways to integrate it into design.
My latest five obsessions are the following: the reintroduction of the classic Greek key pattern, the creative use of a leading edge on a drape, the dramatic effect of a large-scale abstract art piece, fabrics in bold, organic patterns, and timeless silver serving pieces. We will be showcasing one obsession a day this week.. I hope you enjoy them!
The Greek Key – which symbolizes eternity and unity – is making a comeback in a huge way! It’s on bedding, drapes, pillows, dressers…you name it. The Greek key is a detail that – even in small amounts – adds drama and elegance to any space. For example, I spotted these luscious roman shades on Pinterest – the amazing new technology tool for my design brain. I was so inspired by these shades — I am having the Nandina workroom custom make a new duvet cover in its replica. It will make such a statement!
Check out one of the gorgeous Greek key fabrics from Schumacher that we just got in. Yum!
