Gain Endless Inspiration on a Tour of Homes
With Spring comes a wonderful annual tradition in many cities and towns across the country, a tour of homes. These rare glimpses beyond a house’s facade provide the opportunity for many of us to experience other worlds of style, in real life. Not on the pages of a magazine or on a Pinterest board but actual lived in, functioning spaces. Countless private residences graciously open their doors to complete strangers and for a nominal fee, most often benefiting a worthy cause, we’re allowed to let our imaginations run wild.
Nandina Home & Design is a proud sponsor of the Inman Park Tour of Homes in Atlanta April 27th-29th. The city’s first suburb, Inman Park is a gloriously unique neighborhood where you’ll find Victorian mansions, Arts & Crafts bungalows and Urban loft residences all located within a few blocks of each other. This vibrant community has done a tour of homes for the past 40 years, much to the delight of those fortunate to attend.
Charleston South Carolina’s Festival of Houses & Gardens is so impressive it goes on for a full month, March 22nd-April 21st. If you’ve never been to Charleston or done a tour of homes there, add it to the Must Do list. The history, architecture, ocean side setting and lush greenery of this city are not to be missed. While entering many of the incredible houses on this tour is like stepping back in time, other’s provide an unexpected contrast between their worn exteriors and completely renovated, modern interiors.
In Aiken, we love 2 very different tours; the Woodside Plantation Festival of Homes April 15th-17th featuring breathtaking new construction and St. Thaddeus’ Home & Garden Tour April 21st in the historic district. We’re particularly excited about this one as our own Sue Shannon’s home will be on tour!
Thank you brave individuals who welcome us into your homes, we can’t wait for this year’s tours to get underway. Mark your calenders, grab your maps and let the inspiration begin. Oh the things we’ll see!
