Bold and Bright Gem Stone Colors
Bright and bold hues have been quite trendy over the past few years – just look at Pantone’s Color of the Year choices for 2010 and 2011, turquoise and honeysuckle. What’s rather interesting about many of these colors is that they are derived from gem stones, making them a lovely earthy color choice that isn’t boring or bland like the neutral tones you may tend to think of when you hear the word “earthy.”
Recently, Apartment Therapy discussed this color trend and noted some interesting points about using gem stone colors. For instance, most gem stone colors work well with each other, so you can incorporate more than one into a space. Additionally, these colors look great on all types of furniture.
