Rosemary Beach, Florida – A Charming Oasis

My family and I just returned from Rosemary Beach, Florida while on Atlanta’s spring break.  We absolutely love this darling beach town.  It is an enchanting place that brings back memories of the old days when children and adults strolled around on bicycles, ate ice cream in the streets, chatted with their neighbor over cocktails on the front porch and borrowed sugar (or beer) by yelling over the balcony.  This extraordinary development, on the edge of the Florida Panhandle, is an oasis of charming architecture and design with a West Indies feel.   A master-planned community, it is following in the footsteps of pioneers of New Urbanism and Seaside, Andrés Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk of Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company.

If you go, make sure you eat at Paradis, the most fabulous restaurant there, and hit up the Sugar Shak with or without kids, and shop at Willow for the latest haute fashion finds!  Below are some wonderful images to show you what this delightful town is all about.  Enjoy!

Balconies and patios at the beach houses are the perfect place to enjoy a warm evening ocean breeze.

This pool and the architecture of this beach-side escape are stunning.

Of course, nothing beats the fabulous ocean views of Rosemary Beach!

The crisp white and pops of yellow in this living room would be perfect for your own oasis in Rosemary Beach.

This beach house has a pool right next to the dining room table… perhaps an item to keep on our beach house wish lists…

The dining chairs in this beach house kitchen play off of the natural elements found ocean-side and add texture to the space.

The Sugar Shak… one of the sweetest places on the planet!

I love exploring the many unique shops of Rosemary Beach!
