For the Wee Ones…

This past weekend we had a fabulous time throwing a baby shower for one of my dear friends.  (I’m sure you’ll see more about this in a future post, because it was so much fun!)  While we were there, we had the joy of touring the honoree’s soon-to-be nursery.  It was absolutely adorable!  They opted for beautiful, traditional furnishings, but they also spunked it up with amazing fabrics and funky artwork!  This got me to thinking about the ways that you can create an elegant nursery in many non-traditional ways.  Here are some of my favorite images that I’ve found lately.

Sophisticated Nursery

I love how this room feels like a grown-up living room, and yet there is a beautiful Jenny Lind crib and sophisticated childlike touches throughout.  The navy rug really grounds the space, and the pops of yellow really help bring out the amazing Atlanta-based Michelle Armas‘s abstract art piece over the crib.

Navy and Pink Nursery

Navy…it’s not just for boys anymore!  How amazing is this pink and navy nursery?  The crisp, white crib and bedding really pop against the navy and wood floors.

Good Morning Sunshine!

What a fresh spin on a nursery!  The striped walls are a bold detail that really adds uniqueness to the space, and the orange is a rich punch – especially paired with the soft aqua chevron.  I also love the colorful maps!  They are sure to infect this child with a travel bug!  Who wouldn’t want to sleep in here?

Casual Collected Nursery

This is one of my favorite nurseries of all time.  I love the casual elegance and mix of furniture.  The rug is amazing and really inspires the whole room.  Nothing in here is overdone.  It all just ‘works’ together to create a gorgeous collected look.

Neutral Class

I adore this soft, neutral nursery.  What a peaceful way to slumber!  The painted floors are incredible, and they meld seamlessly with the wainscoting.  This space  could easily transition into a kid’s room  for either gender.

Bold, Graphic Nursery

Holy Moly!  This is one crazy cool nursery.  Sarah Richardson really outdid herself here.  There are so many amazing touches, it is hard to know where to start and stop.  The drapes are absolutely incredible, and the modern rocker is so phenomenal!

Elegant Neutrals

This is another nursery that I’ve admired for some time.  It’s simply divine.  Not only does it work for a nursery, but you could easily replace the crib with a queen or king for an adult’s room!  Don’t you just  love the artwork and the rocking horse?  What special touches!

Have you seen any neat nursery ideas?  Are you working on one yourself?  If you need any assistance, we are always excited to help create a space for your new addition or another bedroom in your home!

See the best,

Lathem
